It's not a title, it's an appellation.

RE: Kate's wedding gown. The lace had flora: rose, thistle, daffodils, and shamrocks. Rose for England, thirstle for Scotland, daffodils for Wales, and Shamrock for Ireland I am guessing? Also how will she be addressed now? Duchess of Cambridge is her official rank/title (sorry don't know the terminology), no princess I know that. Are people suppose to call her Catherine all the time now? That wedding was the most amazing PR job. The monarchy really pulled it together on this one. Amazing.

That’s very interesting. I hadn’t studied the details of the lace, but you’re probably right. They always work symbolic things into royal wedding dresses, jewels, and even family names.

The press will probably call her Princess Kate, except for the classiest networks (like the BBC) that will call her the Duchess of Cambridge. A lot of media sources are doing that now, but I think they’ll go back to Kate soon because casual readers might not know the new title. Now everyone’s so caught up in the wedding they’ll easily remember and the new title is a story in itself.

I’m amazed with how well the wedding went off. It was very dignified but made them seem very human. I don’t think they’ve ever done a wedding quite as powerful as this one. For Will and Kate is was just about them and their love, but I’m sure some of the men in gray suits are patting themselves on the back.

Do any of the royals have tattoos?

A few are known, and others are rumored to be inked. Almost all royal tattoos are in places you don’t normally see.

Modern royals:

Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark has two.

Princess Stephanie of Monaco apparently has three, but I can’t find pictures.

Ari Behn, the husband of Princess Martha Louis of Norway has several.

Prince Harry is rumored to have one.

Zara Philips is also rumored to have one or possibly more.

Vintage royals:

George V and his brother Prince Eddy were inked in the navy. Supposedly they got matching dragon tattoos. I say allegedly because accounts differ on what they had (I’ve also heard George had a cross, but the dragon story appears more often) and Eddy died young and George turned into a prude who never let anyone see his tattoos.

Nicholas II apparently had one that he got in Japan. Possibly another dragon.

Frederick IX of Denmark was totally inked.

Sissi of Austria apparently had a snake on her wrist, but I’ve never seen a picture of it.

King Paul of Greece got a tattoo when he was in the navy.

A vintage news article I read claimed Wallis Simpson had a tattoo of some kind, but it might just be gossip considering during that era tattoos were associated with trashy women and the tabloids considered Wallis to be trashy.

And I’m sure there are a few I’m missing! If anyone sends me more details I’ll be glad to post them.

William & Catherine: Prince Harry pays tribute to brother William in best man's speech → williamandcatherine.tumblr.com

Prince Harry pays tribute to William and Kate Middleton before leaving Buckingham Palace in early hours.

Harry was said to have made a light-hearted best man’s speech, laced with jokes at his brother’s expense and even some of his more elderly relatives, after an evening dinner hosted by Prince…

The only good thing I can say about Charles and Camilla is that they’re legit. Selfish as hell, but totally legit. While we all had a good laugh about the tampon comment, those tapes were some pretty strong evidence there is something real between Charles and Camilla. It wasn’t just a mistress situation where she did weird sexual stuff Diana wouldn’t do and in exchange he bought her diamonds, though I’m sure there was some of that going on as well.
