How can anyone do any level of research on David and Wallis and not come to the conclusion that they were in love with each other? I’m guessing some sort of combination of cynicism and willful ignorance. Like sometimes I see the “analysis” of their relationship some people come up with, and I’m convinced we must not be talking about the same people.

When Kate worked for Party Pieces, what were her responsibilities? Is she credited on their website or in their print materials? Did clients and suppliers ever get calls from her? Did she take meetings with her parents? Like if Carole had a meeting, would Kate be there with her asking questions and keeping track of things? I work for my mom, and when she does a show, I’m there all day keeping track of things and making sure her orders are carried out. Do any former Party Pieces employees remember receiving orders from Kate, or working along side her? Maybe she worked online, but I’ve never heard of her having computer skills. Also, why did she major in art history and not business, or marketing, or web design, or any kind of graphic design or merchandising? I understad it may not have been her plan from the beginning to work at Party Pieces, but let’s not pretend she was intending to be an art history professor or work as an art dealer or at a musuem, because that just doesn’t make sense with what we’ve seen. I don’t remember her ever showing any interest in art.
I understand the issue of her not being seen much at the headquarters, but were her parents there most days? Maybe she was with Mike and Carole, taking meetings with them and helping with shipping.
Those skeptical of Kate seem to act like she had no job at all, whereas her fans act like she had responsibilities and did a lot to support her family’s business.
Thanks! The sad thing is I didn’t make any of it up; people actually believe every part of it.
Edward VIII & Wallis Simpson- Well, you know he loved her more than she loved him. She was a golddigger. She wrote nice letters to her ex-husband. He was probably gay anyway. It was some weird sex thing. I bet she was really a man. They were probably both Nazis. He forced her to marry him, or maybe she put a spell on him. Not a real love story.
George VI & Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon- She was probably in love with his brother, or that Jamie Stuart fellow. He was weird and mouselike and followed her around like a puppy dog. It was totally one-sided. He couldn’t get it up, or maybe she just refused to have sex with him. Either way their kids were conceived with a turkey baster. Not a real love story.
Elizabeth II & Prince Philip- He totally cheated on her with her cousin, and his cousin’s wife. He’s a creepy racist Nazi. She probably wished she could’ve divorced him years ago. You know they totally haven’t slept in the same bed in years. It was a mistake. The Queen Mum knew it was a mistake. Andrew even said he could never imagine his parents making love. Not a real love story.
Prince Charles & Camilla Parker-Bowles- They’re awful people. Bad people don’t fall in love. They don’t even have that emotional capacity. Did you hear the phone conversation? It’s some weird sex thing. Totally. Creepy bastard talks to plants. I bet he’ll cheat on Camilla next. She deserves it. Poor Diana. Not a real love story.
Prince William & Kate Middleton- She’s a social climber. Her mom put her up to it. He doesn’t love her. I bet she’s good in bed. She only ever went to St. Andrews to get with William. They broke up in 2007, and probably a bunch of other times. I heard she got an abortion. She slept with his friends, and he cheated a bunch. He settled for her. Not a real love story.
Prince Harry & Chelsy Davy- He’s just a playboy prince. He’s a cheater, and probably a Nazi because, you know, why not? She looks like a crack whore. Probably using him. I heard her dad is friends with a dictator; she probably is too. She’s what they call a practice girl, and Harry is way too much of a womanizer to settle down with her. Obviously he dumped her, no way a woman would ever dump a prince. Not a real love story.
So, have I missed anything? Or do you people see that it’s the same fucking thing every time? No, every relationship is not the same. Some people are blatently more in love than others, and some relationships work out better than others. But if it works, it works. You’re not going to find any perfect stories involving flawed people.
of the footage of Wallis and David kissing on the dock in NY in 1952? I’ve seen the footage on British Pathe but not Youtube which means I can’t make one. Anyone know if there’s a clip on youtube or a way to make a GIF from British Pathe?
The Nazi stuff was basically b.s. as all he really did was meet with Hitler, and support appeasement. He acted stupidly, and hindsight is 20/20, but that doesn’t make him a Nazi or anything. George VI died of lung cancer. He got it because he smoked. If he hadn’t smoked as much, he would have lived longer. It’s as simple as that. I actually think Elizabeth (if you mean the Queen Mum) did want to be Queen, but was upset on her husband’s behalf because she knew how badly he didn’t want to be King. So it wasn’t really about her, but her feelings towards her husband and her concerns on how he was holding up. I think she did just fine. As for Elizabeth the daughter, yes she didn’t want to be Queen, but she’s done alright and I don’t think she’s an unhappy person. She probably would have ended up Queen either way, but she would have been more mature and ready for it if she’d gotten the throne in ‘72 instead of ‘52. The story about the Kents is very much rumor. Yes there were people who wanted to skip to George (then Duke of Kent) because he was, next to David, the most polished and charismatic of the brothers. He was also the most intelligent. But George had skeletons in his closet far beyond David’s, and certainly Bertie’s. I’m talking drug addiction, affairs with both men and women, and even an alleged lovechild. It just wouldn’t have worked, and the plan didn’t ever come close to happening. I don’t think George wanted to be King any more than the other brothers.
No. He could have actually done very well. The problem was on him and on the government. He didn’t want to play the game, and Baldwin and Parliament were not willing to give him any flexibility. I actually think he would have been an excellent king and his popularity and people skills could have really shown through. But it was really an issue of his personal desires and feelings. He wanted to be who he wanted to be, and he wouldn’t have been happy on the throne, so perhaps it’s for the best he gave it up.
I’ve heard that, but I don’t know. Given what I’ve learned in history class the fact that her father is white, of British descent, and owns vast property in Africa speaks for some kind of horrible atrocities in her family history. But that’s not her fault. The royals have their share of nasty ancestors, and even I’m not immune to that. My ancestors owned a major cotton plantation in the Antebellum South. It is what it is.
