Personally, I don't know why people idolize Sophie and hate on Kate for doing nothing. What does Sophie do? Also, Kate's made appearances at her local charities. Sophie is a good wife and mother, but she's also had a very bad scandal in her past.
The Sophe fangirling is a recent trend. I like Sophie but I honestly think a lot of this just comes from wanting a “good” royal to compare Kate too and realizing the Diana comparisons weren’t cutting it. Sophie’s scandal isn’t that big of a deal, but neither is Kate’s.
Sophie does do more engagements than Kate, though, as do many other members of the royal family.
William and I can separate life into two parts. There were those years when we were blessed with the physical presence beside us of both our mother and father.
And then there are the 10 years since our mother’s death. When she was alive, we completely took for granted her unrivaled love of life, laughter, fun and folly. She was our guardian, friend and protector.
She never once allowed her unfaltering love for us to go unspoken or undemonstrated.
She will always be remembered for her amazing public work. But behind the media glare, to us, just two loving children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world.
We would say that, wouldn’t we.
But we miss her. She kissed us last thing at night. Her beaming smile greeted us from school. She laughed hysterically and uncontrollably when sharing something silly she might have said or done that day. She encouraged us when we were nervous or unsure.
She — like our father — was determined to provide us with a stable and secure childhood.
To lose a parent so suddenly at such a young age, as others have experienced, is indescribably shocking and sad. It was an event which changed our lives forever, as it must have done for everyone who lost someone that night.
But what is far more important to us now, and into the future, is that we remember our mother as she would have wished to be remembered as she was: fun-loving, generous, down-to-earth, entirely genuine.
We both think of her every day.
We speak about her and laugh together at all the memories.
Put simply, she made us, and so many other people, happy. May this be the way that she is remembered.

LSK: Dear bertie, do you know how much awesome you are? Infinity :’)
Your Harry opinion just seems really odd and sort of silly. You're basically saying he shouldn't have fun or enjoy his youth doing the things wealthy young people do, just because he is a member of the royal family.
No, not at all. But he’s twenty-eight now! People who aren’t royal usually have jobs and houses and spouses by that age. If he were twenty-two that would be a little different.
Also not everyone can act the way he acted in Vegas. Girls can’t act the way he did without worrying about getting raped/murdered or having nude pictures turn up online and having strangers call them a whore. I would never get naked in front of a room of strange drunk people.
And finally as I’ve said before Harry has every right to party and get drunk and have sex and be stupid but as long as he’s representing his country and receiving income and housing in exchange for doing so he needs to not get photographed doing it. How hard is it to be aware of your surroundings and not invite strangers to the party? Harry obviously had quite a few people he trusted given his Facebook profile posts didn’t leak and he had over four hundred friends. Why not party with those people?
Although I don't know how it's being portrayed in the US media, there's a strong sense here in the UK that Harry is the victim and I've not really seen it in the news. May I ask why you judge him so harshly and why your extensive knowledge of his family allows you the right to do so? I don't mean to come across as rude, I very much enjoy reading this blog. I'm just curious!
I don’t judge him that harshly. It’s just a matter of this scandal being 100% his fault and the fact that he did act irresponsibly and inappropriately for a member of the royal family.
How could he possibly be the victim? Unless those woman held him down and ripped his clothes off him I just don’t see how that could be possible.
Harry acted stupidly and even if he wasn’t royal that would be true. In this age of camera phones you can’t get naked in front of a room full of strangers and not expect someone to take pictures. I think the UK media, and many royal bloggers, may be treating Harry like this isn’t his fault purely out of sympathy for his difficult position as the “spare” and out of respect for his late mother. Also there’s an element of slut shaming in pinning this scandal on those greedy American whores who took picture and not the idiot who knowingly took off all his clothes in front of a bunch of strangers with camera phones. Everyone knows TMZ pays money for these things, and it’s simple economics that people act based on incentives. We’ve all got bills to pay. Why turn down what is basically free money for the sake of a man you don’t know who acted purely of his own free will? If this was one of his friends, who he knew and trusted, that did this I might have some level of sympathy.
“I am sad because I miss you and being near and yet so far seems most unfair. Some day of course I must learn to be always alone for I will be in my heart… One can be awfully alone in crowds-but also perhaps both of us will cease to want what is hardest to have and be content in the simple way. And now I hear your machine which generally was a joyous sound because soon you would be holding me and I would be looking up into your eyes. God bless you and above all make you strong where you have been weak.”—Wallis Simpson to Edward VIII, 1936
Do you think the palace protected Harry in the same way they would have done it with William? I often see other blogs complaining how William gets all the perks and applauses and they trash harry but i think this time it was purely Harry's fault since the palace cannot control American media. Also, I don't know if you saw but there was a post saying how Harry was a poor little boy and that the girl were "bitches", I get so angry when Harry is portray as a man who was almost forced to it!
I do too. Harry is not a victim here; this is 100% his fault. I would be more sympathetic if this was someone he knew and trusted who did this, but it wasn’t. He just has no self control.
In this case it would make no difference whether it was William or Harry as TMZ would not give a damn what the palace tried to do to stop them.
Now I do believe the royal family does influence the British media to some extent to paint William as being more mature and responsible than he actually is and that before his marriage William was just as wild as his brother.
People should understand that they test soldiers for drugs but this tests are not done continually and more importantly, we don't know the results. Also, there are a lot of ways to cover drug use, I'm saying Harry has done it but it's a fact, just look at all the athletes who get tested periodically and consume harsher drugs than pot yet most of them never get discover, and we only find out when they decide to tell everything in some interview.
Yes, exactly. Also it’s entirely possible Harry’s been lucky; there are navy guys around here just as irresponsible as he is who do lots of stuff and just get lucky and aren’t tested very often. It’s usually random and most people don’t get tested very often. Harry may find himself forced to submit to more tests in light of the recent scandals though.
If you don't have an account, I'm sorry I can't take submissions from you
Because apparently it shows up on everyone’s dash as if my account submitted it and given how much trouble other people in this fandom have gotten into over that I’m just not getting myself in that situation.
Just make a throwaway if you have to. Don’t do the email thing. Sorry.
Could you make a spam revealing the dirty little things some royals did? I only know a few thing about Harry, Diana's affairs, Charles' affairs, William taking a girl to his army base while dating Kate... It would be nice to see the unregal things the royals did!
There’s really not that much. Also if you want royal dirt you’re not going to find nearly as much about them as about historical royalty as things are kept much more quiet now and most of what I know is just things I’ve heard, not what I really know. If you want dirt check the Daily Fail.
I HIGHLY doubt that Harry has done drugs in the military. They do random drug testing frequently and if you have any in you, goodbye. Even in your spare time (on a long leave) they may call you in for testing. Harry may be stupid at times, but I dont think he is stupid enough to do drugs.
Um, I said that in my response. Read it again. They do have drug tests.
But to suggest that just because he never has failed a drug test (that we know of) means he hasn’t done any drugs at all on his time off is ridiculous. I live in one of the largest military towns in the world, and plenty of guys mess around with drugs on their off time. And there’s tons of stuff you can do, like the aforementioned prescriptions, that won’t get you in any trouble.
Look at Harry’s circle of friends, look at the bong joke, look at the Vegas pictures. Use logic. Harry has done drugs. That doesn’t mean it’s a regular thing, and I said I don’t think he’s an addict. But he has at least experimented.
This happened a while back: remember when some papers published a story that Harry was using drugs when he was 16? And then his father took him to rehad and nobody cared about it. I know he used pot; do you know if he used other drugs?
There is a lot to suggest he’s experimented with many drugs, including cocaine and prescription pills, but the only solid evidence we have is for pot. I’m sure he has drug tests occasionally in the military so whatever he does he’s got to be careful about and he’s probably not an addict.
